Into The Woods Review

So I went to see into the woods this week, it's had a lot if mixed reviews, so here is mine - from the veiw of a musical theatre student.

I LOVED it!!! Lots of people I know have been saying how they where diserpointed as they thought there would be more acting. These are the people who have not down their home work! It reverts back to my earlier comments before the films relise, about people saying Disney had made a new film. Disney have actually adapted the musical by Stephen Sondhiem. There is a lot of acting in the film, espesicaly acting through song, from what I have gathared people have assumed this is a happy Disney sort of story.

Sondhiem has got his story ideas from the fairy tales of 'The Brothers Grimm' (who I studied in college). These brothers are the people who origanly wrote the classic fairy tales, however, they are not the fairy tales we know and love today, they are much more groosome and dark, as they where origanly written to teach children lesson and to make them be good.

I loved te casting choices, James Corden and Emily Blunt totally suprised me as I thought they where straight actors (I thought wrong!) they are amazing singers! Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Danial Huttelstone and Christine Baranskiwjetr flawless as always and Lillian Crawford was amazing! I have never seen her in anything, but I'm really looking forwards to what she does next! I didn't know Johnny Depp was on the film until I saw him on screen, and well he's Johnny Depp, he was flawless. I won't say any more promise! 

The story, set and directing where all spot on! I was really impressed, and deffenetly recomend a trip to the cinima!
