CATS has always been one of my all time favourite musicals, but it cakes off the West End when I was young so I never got to see it, so as soon as I heard it was coming back to the West End I was in the que to get tickets!
I was unsure when they first announced Nicole Scherzinger as Grizzabella I was unsure, so I did some research and found that she actually had done musical theatre before and was really good!
The set for CATS was amazing! Really helps you loose your self in the musical! The props are amazing too (especially the physical theatre in Shimmbleshanks).
The dancing was absolutely flawless! The timing and execution of the moves was insain! I was also so impressed at the energy and stamina the actors had, to be able to sing as well as they did while doing these phenomenal dances! The quality of acting was amazing as well, you could really tell that the actors had done their resurch on the movement and characteristics of cats.
Rumtumtugger had a slite change to his song, as it was rapped, I wasn't sure it fitted, however it was executed so well I had to hand it to them, I completely forgot I wasn't sure about the style of the song.
Memory was very good, the reprise was my favourite as Nicole Scherzinger has a phenomenal belt! (Though I do wish I had heard more of the belt in the first half!)
All in all I would say go see CATS! Go buy your tickets now! I would happily go see it a second and third time!
AHH it still amazes me that this is back in the West End and I must go and see it during the summer! I was just as surprised too when they announced Nicole was doing the role of Gabriella, I always presumed it was a older lady that undertook that role!
