The Book of Morman!

When The Book of Morman first came out I was not convinced that it was going to be good, however after a few friends said that they loved it, I desided to give it a go, and I loved it!
This is a musical that people who have a very dry sence of humer and laugh at things they shouldn't (for example cards against humanity) will love. I was sitting next to a gentleman who huffed and puffed his way through the first act then did not return for the second half. I found this a bit disrespectful to the performers as it even says when you book tickets that this is not a musical for those who are easily offended.
I loved it, I laughed from the begining to the end and enjoyed all the little jokes. The characters where amazing and performed perfectly! My favorite scene was deffanetly the 'switch it off' tap number.
100% recommend this musical to those who do not get easily offended, those who do, maybe give it a miss.

Once The Musical

I really wanted to see Once before it left the West End so me and some friends got some last minuet tickets, and we where fortunate enough to see Ronan Keating perform as well.
The music was phanominal! The way all the actors used their instruments on stage and that they where the band was amazing! The music was flawless and beautiful, I personally love Irish folk music but this was something else!
I also enjoyed that as the set was a bar you where able to go on to the stage in the interval and get your drinks there.

The Batasea Barge!

So one of our performances lately was a singing cabertet at The Battasea Barge in London.
I sang 'Adalides Lament' from 'Guys and Dolls' and my friend Georgina and I did a duet of 'My Child' from 'Blood Brothers'. It was an amazing expirince (asides the motion sickness! But the show must go in!) and really gave me a huge confidence boost with my singing and has now opened the way for me to start learning more complexed songs.

Henry IV Part 1

So about a month ago (appologies for the late update!) my class and I went to see Henry IV at the Barbican with Anothony Sher, the auther of the book 'Year of The King'. If you havnt read that book yet I advise you go do it because it is an amazing book full of advice for actors just starting out.
Unlike a lot of people I do actually really enjoy Shakespeare, just not the kings..... However I was able to keep up with the story line and I even found bits of it funny. This is due to very good acting and re-acting on the actors behalfs. By making their reactions a little bit over the top we where able to enjoy the play more as we could understand what was going on. I highly recomend it to people who struggle with the kings!
