Seke Chimutengwende....

Seke is my performance project choreographer and this is my resurch that I have done on him so far.

Seke works with both improvisation and choreography, with large and small scale works. He is a dance maker and a teacher. He trained at Lewisham College, London Contempery dance school and has gone on to train at The Place in London and he is London based.
He got to the semi finals of The Place Prize with the piece 'The Time Travel Piece' Its about a choreographer who finds a time traverling mechine in a theatre and goes back in time and see's three dance pieces (the three ideas were picked after interveiwing people and asking them what they hought dance woujld be like in the future and the best three were the chosen ones) When the choreograper gets back to the preasent day he creates a piece about the three dances he has just seen.
Im following him on twitter and on blogspot so I can see what sort of performences he is doing at the minuete.
He has performed internationaly with names such as Karl Jay Lewin, Laila Diallo and Alias Cie. He has also performed in an experdition by Trisha Brown at the Barbican Art Gallery (NYC) He has been performing and practising his own work since 2006.
He has been awarded a grant by The Arts Council England to create his tour of his new choreography called 'Mr Lawson'.

From watching his vidios I have noticed that he uses naturalistic movements, lots of articulation and extentions, sharp movements, lots of foot work, lots of leavles use, and he uses body sounds and speach during performances. He says his ideas come from improvisations and I found two quotes by him 'I come in the studio and we just start' and 'you dont have to have everything compleerly set'
