Today we went to china because it was Chines new year.
After circle time we became a long chines dragon and we played with some material to help with movement for the dragons. We then turned the material in to sledges and swings.
We pretended to be fireworks and said words like 'pop' 'snap' and 'bang' and worked with movement and improvisation.
Again I found the children were showing more interest in us.
In the second class the children were more willing to work with us and were showing more interest in us. We made dragons again and when we made fire work displays in little groups I found instead of letting them run wild, I would suggest things like 'are we jumping when we do this?' which makes them think more about their movement'.
