We go with the children , there is no we are going to do this now. It's more shall do do this? And if not we do what the children suggest and then move on to what we suggest.
The classes are more about imagination and having fun rather than learning to point your toes (very different to what I was tought learning to dance)
There are lots of children with learning disability and the majority of them use sighn language. So I brought a sighn language book and I can now sighn 'Hello' 'H' 'J' 'G' 'B' 'E' 'A' 'I' 'O' 'U' 'India' 'Look at me' 'Listen to me'
The warm up is circle time and we go round in a circle and say and sighn our names and choose some form of movement to do.
We then get Barnaby bear and he tells us were we will go and we then go and find the country on the map.
We went to Egypt, so we had to decided how to get there. We took a plane, but one of the children wanted to grow a carrot so we pretended to be carrots growing before we made a plane to board.
When we got to Egypt we had to move through the sand before making pyramids with our body's and letting the children climb over us. We had to be an explorer finding a mummy (one of the girls from the second class who helps) and we all had to chase her.
After this we did a themed galloping routine eg when your at the end make a scarey mummy face. And to cool down we did incey wincey spider.
The second class we had more special needs children. We do the same class but at the beginning we also do a 'Hello Hello' dance as well as the circle time.
I find the second class harder as the children are more attached to the parents and they get very shy when you talk to them.
