Medieval theaters 'mammas' went agensed the pope and traveled doing secret theater. They timed there performances to make sure the pubs were quite empty and the fairs were lit.
The Globe - James Burbage invented the first theater called 'The Theater' and it was burnt and that's where The Globe was made. The Globe was well placed for the sun and there was entire lighting (candle light)
Candle lighting was used, lots of candles were used untill there was gas lighting. The first lighting board was pedal opp-orated. The lights were very hot and the actors either passed out or even died.
The invention of the bulb made it safer and more cost effective.
The swan was the first theater to be fully bulb operated.
Now we have stronger lights.
'In the lime light' came around when it was candle light time when someone worked out how to make a follow spot.
